Michele,
Isn’t this big enough for you?
http://playepub.com/files/2012/03/font.gif
From my point it’s even bigger than needed, isn’t it?
I don’t know if i accepted file permission when i installed but deleting and re-installing does not give me this option. How do I go back to this option?
Yes the books are epub, they work on my daughters play book. She only has the trial version. Would this make a difference?
THere are no files showing and theere is no button on the home screen beside the home button that is below the browse files:
Even the largest font is too small for my ageing eyes. Could you please broaden the font size spectrum?
Thanks
@Frank,
That’s very strange.
Can you open previously opened books or this is afecting any book?
Does this happen after an app update?
Which OS do you have?
I have an error and can`t start any book. When I start playepub I get this error.
error as follows:
error opening book.
youbook mightbe DRM-protected.
please report this issue at
What should I do?
Frank
On my pc I use Calibre to organize my library, that’s where I edit the metadata to include the series name and the number the book is in the series. In Calibre you can sort by series only and it makes it sooooo much easier to keep track of which books you are reading and which ones have been read already 🙂
@Bruce Turriff,
Did you accept file permission when you installed? That is usually the issue.
I asume your files are epub files.
@Chris,
Uhmmmm…
How do you identify books on the same serie?
I need to find a pattern to see how difficult it is 😛
Hello,
I downloaded PlayEpub a few days ago and copied a book library from my computer to playbook. The library is comptable and. Plays on my daughters playbook but my playbook will not open the files. When I open the app it does not find the files
What I mean by sort by series is, let’s say I have all the books written by author George RR Martin, but only want to view the books in “The fire and Ice” series. Is that possible?
@liz,
You have probably denied file acess when installed.
Try reinstalling app and accept perms.
I’ve got my epub books without DRM on the playbook and they show up in Airbrowser but I can’t find them in PlayEpub reader. What am I doing wrong?
@Chris,
Thank you!
what do you mean with “sorting by series”?
Thanks for this application, love it 🙂 Just wondering if there is any way I can sort my books by book series and not only title or author?
@Bill,
I think I have not understood your issue.
Can you still open opened books? I mean, do you have the issue only when opening new files?
Please disregard the “best” in my last message. I am still learning to type on the Blackberry keyboard.
Bill
Hl
I seem to be locked out of my epub reader.When I try to access my directory all I get is an error message that says I am trying to open a DRM protected book. I can access the websites provided by the app to find more books, but I can,t access my own directory anymore, nor can I stop the reading or whatever is going on with the cause of the best error message
Thanks for your help.
Bill
@Boris,
Thankyou man!
PDF support is in study, but after some research I don’t think it is going to be possible. I’m in it.
@Adrian,
I have not forgotten your suggestion, it’s in my todo list but I don’t consider it as prioritary.
Sooner or later you’ll see something 😛
@Roelof Ridderman,
I don’t know what could be happening with you app, I can open your file and read it. See my screenshots:

Thank you so much for making this product
If I could add pdf support this will be the best app ever
Keep up the good work
Hello I’ve suggested in the past if there is any way to include a shelf view for the app. Overall I and many others that I know who use this app fell that it would be more aesthetically pleasing. I’ve attached a picture as an example. Thanks

Looks like total waste of money. I can’t open any book on my playbook. I allways get error:
Error opening book. Yout book might be DRM Protected.
I’ve made a simple text file and converted this to epub format using http://www.2epub.com, no success. It won’t load.

@John Waller,

this file doesn’t work properly… it seems to loop when loaded, and won’t play past 19%.

Thanks for the great program !
@Bee,
Does this happen with any book you open or just with some of them?
Could you please upload one of those files to make some tests?
Hi,
After loading an epub, if for any reason, I ever lef playepub (e.g. putting playbook down to do something for 10 mins or to switch between apps on playbook), when I returned to epub to resume reading, the screen on playpub will keep reloadingon its own(i.e. the circle showing progress will keep circulating). To overcome this issue, I had to close the epub I was reading, deleted the epub from playepub, closed playepub and re-opened the book from start. This incidence also happened when I accidentally touched the screen whilst reading (i.e. continuous reloading akin to PC ‘hanging’). Can you please help?
Thanks.
@Gordon Hay,
Make the same process, long tap on the file and choose delete option.
I can delete a book from the opened books screen, but it remains listed on the files screen. How do I permanently remove the file from Playbook?.
@Don,
No, Playepub does only support epub format. You can try calibre to convert your .mobi files to epub.
Hi,
Does this reader support mobi format?
Don
@EdB,
Yes, it’s delete and install again. System knows you have already paid 🙂
If problem persists, please, send me on of you books.
I don’t see a way to reinstall at all. If I go to the appstore my only choice is delete. Do I delete first then install? How will it know that I don’t have to repay?
@EdB,
It does not seem to be a perm problem as you can open some of them.
Please, atach one of those files and let me make some tests.
Regarding your question, you can freely reinstall app, you don’t have to pay again.
Some of my books can be read but others cannot. I use Calibre for my library so I know the epubs themselves are fine. I get the permission error but when I chech the app it does have file permission. Can you please explain how to reinstall? Will I have to pay again?
@Nata,
It should not take a lot, retry later if you have problems.
To copy files you can do it via usb or wifi, check Playbook help.
what is the speed of download for trial version? I am not able to download anything after 10 min.
Also, how do I copy books to read on Playepub?
@Mike,
Make a long tap over an opened book and you will see the option to delete it.
GREAT software. Question – where are books stored once they are imported into library? Can they be removed from library? The reason I am asking is that I have some documents that are sensitive but despite being hidden in document folder, your book reader app still sees them. Tks
@alex,
I understand your point, but many other people asked two months ago to restore this “paper-like” background instead of a plain one after having changed it, they said they had a strongest paper-like feeling when reading.
Regarding font color on sepia mode, it could be changed, but I’m not sure about it. FBreader on my Android looks black too. In fact, sepia mode means old paper, black color does not have to be brown.
I’ll make a poll on Twitter and Facebook and I’ll see what people say 🙂
@John MacDonald,
Very strange. Please, upload a copy of your epub file and let me make some tests.
In Sepia bgd looks like tiled image with every line of text having a boundary – very blocky appearance. And text color is black. All other ereaders I saw, android and ios, have simple uniform color bgd with shade of brown text – simple and looks much better. Pinch zoom should be disabled – first it almost does not work and even if it did, the slider in options is more than enough and accidental pinch will not change text size inadvertently.
I am trying your bookreader and having trouble when switching from portrait to landscape (or vice-versa). The position in the book is changed quite a lot. Do you have a suggestion for keeping the same page when rotating….thanks
@Bee,
It’s a premission problem. Something happened and PlayEpub does not have file access permission.
Try reviewing app perms on Playbook’s main menu (swipe down) or just reinstall Playepub granting permission.
@alex,
Thanks for your feedback.
What do you meain with “make Sepia look better”?
What do you find wrong?
I’ll take a look at pinch zoom.
Hi, I bought playepub a few weeks ago. For some unknown reason, it stops loading books and won’t allow mr to browse for folders with ePub. Can you pls help?
Thanks.
Bee
Like the app, better than Book Reader. Please make Sepia look better (check Book Reader) and fix pinch-zoom – very jittery and keeps zoomin in and out even under smooth pinch.
