Please, checkout our FAQ before posting your issue, your solucion might be there.
I think I have not fully understand your issue, but it sounds like a permission issue that is not allowing app to read your files.
Try reinstalling app and, if asked, allow file permission.
I downloaded the trial version of this app and I,m trying to get it to read one of my epub books so I can get feel of it before I make a purchase but it won’t allow me to search for my book.I was able to load a book yesturday but didn’t have time to feel out the app and now I have time the book is no longer there and I can’t search the system to load it back or load another one. Is there anyway of resolving this?
New release published today!

@knahledge,
I’m still lookig at your issue.
I’ve made hundreds of tests but I can not find the origin.
The problem is it takes about 5 minutos to load the file, it’s not a blanck page, it’s still loading. If you deactivate standby mode on swipe down menu and let it load, you will finally be able to continue reading. It’s not a solution but a workarround 🙂
I’m in it…
@jade,
It sounds as permissions had been changed.
Please, check
Playbook main configuracion menu (swippe down):
Security->Application permissions->Playepub->Files
If it’s enabled, you should try reinstalling playepub, if files are in Playbook they should appear on PlayEpub.
i have 26 books loaded on my playbook in .epub format. yesterday i could read them and today they have disappeared from playepub. they appear in my books folder in my playbook when i connect to my laptop. what happened?
Thanks for all your help…it worked.
😛

Try it and let me know 🙂

Which server is your email account?
What host/port do you try?

Here, please.
upload here or send to an e-mail address?
@Ron,
Yes, please, send me that book.
Meanwhile, have you tried disabling book styles on main menu?
I have been using Play ePub for a while, and generally find it good. I thought that a recent fix had solved the problem with text being partly hidden at the top and bottom of the screen. However, I am currently reading a book that has a very serious problem — entire lines are lost at the top and bottom of each displayed page, rendering the app useless for reading this particular file. The file actually works very well on the Kobo e-reader, which I also own, no problems whatsoever, so it seems the problem is NOT the file. I don’t have the file with me right now, but if necessary I can send later, also images of the respective displays (Play ePub and Kobo) for the same sections of text.
@Dau nguyen,
Sorry man, I can not do anything about purchase and update processes, they are on RIM’s side.
There might have been some problems yesterday, try again and if issue persists, try contacting App World customer care.
Why can’t updated error oo3 and oo5
@Yao,
Very strange.
Could you please tellme two or three of those titles?
Hello,
I just downloaded the trial version of PlayEpub to test it out. Downloaded many books from Gutenburg and PlayEpub gives error message on start up:
‘error opening book. Your book might be DRM-Protectred. Please, report this issue at heep://playepub.com/support/’
The books at Gutenburg should be non-DRM.
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Yao
@Graham,
I can not do anything about purchase process as it’s on RIM’s side.
It’s very strange.
Please, try ureinstalling PlayEpub.
It the problem persists, try uninstall (you will loose your settings) and install again.
Finally, are you sure you have been charged for your purchase? maybe something happened…
Hi…me again. I sent you an email this afternoon (Sat.) with the wrong purchasing date for PlayEpub. I purchased this app on the 24th of January. Hopefully we’ll resolve this quickly as I do really like your app and want it permanently.

Hi…I bought PlayEpub on January 16, 20012. It now tells me I only have the trial version and that I have 5 more days to try it out. I would like to know how I get the app back, out of trial mode. My name is Graham Wilson and you have my email address above. I really like the application and want to use it without having to worry that I will lose my downloaded books. Thanks for your help.
Sincerely,

One file per folder. The program allows to select a folder with files in it, but doesn’t look further into any subfolders in that selected folder. I have books saved by genre, so it varies, 10- 60 about…
@Paul,
Thanks man!
I’ll study your suggestion 🙂
How many folders do you have (more or less)?
Just one file per folder or many files per folder?
I have to run some performance tests…
First, thanks for the effort you put in to this app. It is exceptionally good and your attention to improving it is appreciated.
Secondly, could you please make it be possible to import epub files from subfolders of a selected folder? For example if I have books archived by folder (1 book per folder) I’d like to select the folder that all the folders are in and have playepub import them all instead of me having to select the folders 1 by 1.
@Chris Doolan,
You don’t have to mark anything, PlayEpub resumes on the last page you read before closing the book or app.
How do i mark a page to resume to next time Im reading
@paul,
Do you have many mails on your inbox?
I cant get the email syncing to work I have entered correct details but when I try to sync I just get a little green circle that goes round and round.
I have left it for an hour towhat happens, but it just continues go round and round.
Hope you canhelp as I am really enjoying app otherwise.
Paul
@Samy B.,
If your files are epub files, copy them to your playbook and you will see them on PlayEpub file browser, that’s all.
But keep in mind that only non-drm epub files are supported.
So, if I have my book on the media drive, how can I add / import it to the library?
@Samy B.,
Sorry, you can not access to kobo files, only their app can read them.
Hi There, How can I import my book from Kobo library on my Playbook?
Thanks
-sb
@Terrance Washington,
You can select text, highlight, add notes, copy to clipoboard to search on google…

@AJ,
Sorry but PlayEpub does only support epub files, you can not open pdf.
@Andre,
Sorry, I can fully understand your issue. Could you be more specific?
Sometimes while I’m reading I encounter subject matter that I’m ignorant of and would like go search Google, Bing, Wikipedia, etc. Please make this a reality.
This is an awesome app, but you guys need to add a feature that allows the reader (me) to highlight and do a search ala Barnes and Noble nook app. This will add another layer of nuance and usefulness to an already nice application.
Hi,
The file list does not show the pdf files, it just simply shows directories blank.
Is there something wrong or PDF is not supported?
AJ
I find option to delete bookmarks,or replace but is not posible, please help
@dora cook,
Books borrowed from libraries are usually drm protected.
To delete a opened book, make a long tap over it.
how do you remove a book once you’ve read it.
still unable to download library books from ottawa library. however, i can see samples.
@Glenn,
The problem is there is no title/autor on file browser until file is opened.
But this week you will have an update with a file filter on browser. Hope it solves your needs.
@David,
Have you checked?
http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB24454&sliceId=1&docTypeID=DT_SUPPORTISSUE_1_1&dialogID=2008502199&stateId=0%200%202008494720
You could even try 877-255-2377.
I’m not too sure if someone has requested this already but it would be a nice feature if you could search for a specific title or author insted of having to scroll through your entire list.
How do I contact bb?I would like to purchase this product but all I get is error#10000.I could not find where to send questions. Thanks
@jj,
Not sure. Please, send me one chinesse epub file and I’ll make some tests.
