Footnote numbers are missing from footnotes at end of chapters in PlayEpub on the PlayBook. That makes it very difficult to refer to the footnote while reading. As a test, I downloaded the same public domain book into Kobo and the footnote numbers appear at the end of chapters with footnotes. I really like PlayEpub and I hope you can fix this. Thanks!

@Daniel Perez,
I think I have not completely undestood your suggestion.
You can add notes an even audio notes. Is not that what you need?
I was wondering if you could add an option that allows you to add a written note on the page (in differnet fonts) or an audio note (with a symbol next to it?
@Ian Maclean,
So strange…
Don’t worry, you can reinstall for free from App World.
I bought your App and few days ago. I have been using it for about the past week (most recently last night but now now I cannot find it on my Playbook!
The purchase shows on my credit card account.
@Galen Parker,
I have no problem deleting notes.
Go to notes window, select the one in the list you want to delete and click on “del” button.
Doesn’t it work?
I am still on the trial version, I can see how to add bookmarks and to delete them. When I attempt to do the same with notes it does not seem to work. I can add note but it will not let me delete it. Should I possible try to delete and download again? I am asking because myself and some other PB users are looking for a reader that allows us to high light text while studying. thank you for your time.
@dave,
Sorry, I don’t know.
As it’s based on Playbook browser, if it supports Playepub should do, but I’m not sure 🙁
Maybe you can send me one book to test.
Hi
Does it support vietnamese fonts?
Thanks
@dovla,
Have you tried deactivating book styles?
Anyway, please, attach your book to make some test.
problem with text being cut off at the bottom. Very annoying problem. Please look into it.
Can you download the EPub book ‘House of Toy’ by Henry R Miller? It works great up to the end of Chapter 6 and then a soon as it goes to Chapter 7, the page size or some other format changes, so that is in no longer possible to see the full page in the playbook. I have downloaded it twice, and the same problem both times…
Just did the long tap…brilliant. Thanks for your help. Will reload and see if this version works the whole way through
RE: #1707
Is there a way in Calibre to make sure the cover is declared properly so it can be opened by Play Epub. Some of my books come in fine others do not.
@David Richardson,
I can’t see the book.
If you can not upload it, please, send me by email.
Here is one example.
@Tom,
Make a long tap on the opened book preview and delete it. That’s all 🙂
@jamesjtait,
You should better contact to AppWorld customer care, they shound know if your purchase was processed or not.
@David Richardson,
Please, could you send me one of those books with details on how and where to see the problem?
I can not reproduce it so I can not fix it 🙁
I downloaded a book from Project Gutenberg, and am having format problems half way through. Would like to delete the book and try it again with a fresh download, but how do I do it? I connect my Playbook to the computer, and found it as an external hard drive, found the files, and deleted them from the download folders in my play book, so they appear to be gone, but when I disconnect the playbook and reopen PlayEPub, they are still there. Reconnect to my Computer and I cannot see them….how can I get rid of them from my Playbook?
tried the trial and purchased the full version. started up the program and received the trial expired notice. read that you could delete and reinstall without paying again, so i did and that didnt work. the payment hasnt shown up on my visa, so i dont know if it is a matter of patience.
new to playbook, so i dont know what i am doing wrong to get the full version on my playbook.
Using this on Playbook.
I agree with the Appworld comment, occasionally the % completed bar at the bottom will cut off the bottom row of text on one side or another while reading in landscape.
Playing with font size will help, but it really moves the problem to another point in the text since it will now happen in a different spot.
I really enjoy the program and purchased it from App World – hope you can fix this annoyance.
Thanks for your help,
David
Here is a link as well incase the picture does not work

Thanks so much for fixing the issiue between switching from landscape to portrait last month. My new inquiry is about the display of our books. While I do like the current display I feel like we should also have the option to switch to a “book shelf” display as seen with deveralnother ebook readers. I’ve attached a picture as an example

@sd,
Don’t you see your shared folders on that “home”?
Have you accepted file permission?
i followed @Rudy and reinstalled the app but i’m still having the same problem
i’ve downloaded the app but the file browser doesn’t show any folders as seen in the help screen shots. only has blue “home” button below “browse files” on right hand side. yet cannot access anything on screen. I had copied epub book into books folder in shared. what am i doing wrong?
@laur,
What do you mean with “enlarge the bottoms of page”?
@Rudy,
I’ve made some tests and compared them with calibre.
This book does not declare a cover as it should. When this happens PlayEpub takes the first declared image. Calibre makes a more extended analysis of the whole book and finds the cover on the book text. It’s a hard process to be done on Playbook.
please solve those:enlarge the bottoms of page,minimum 2 mm and translator :did not remember my language (translate to:)and it became the best ereader
@jim walker,
Do not worry, just reinstall PlayEpub and your problem will be solved.
i didnt put on file support when loading playepub. how can i do it once its loaded. doesnt have tools/options to change any settings. my books are not recognized and not DRM files. any help would be good. thx
one of the books that does not show the cover, shows a different picture in the book, not the cover, just an example
[file]http://playepub.com/files/2012/01/Laat-Het-Feest-Beginnen-_-Druk-1-Niccolo-Ammaniti.epub[/file]
@Rudy,
Please, attach one of those books and let me make some tests, all of them should work.
while I at it:)
Is there a way to speed up the change of orientation of the screen if I turn it. It takes quite a while before the orientation actually flips from landscape to portrait…
Reinstalling solved the permission. Thanks. Other question: Why do some books show the cover and some do not. All my epubs have been converted with Calibre and all have been converted with the covers (set in the metadata section). Is there a particular format that will show the covers and some not?
@Rudy,
That’s usually a permission problem.
Try reinstalling PlayEpub, should solve the issue.
Hi, Thanks for your app. I have some problems with the newest version, it does not the files folder to browse anymore. That means I cannot open books. Very strange. Can help me.
@Ian,
Sorry, I don’t know what you mean.
Could you please be more specific?
I cannot find how to pay you.Please tell me. Thank you.
Hi. I’ve purchased the app, and thanks for looking into the issues I raised.
I found another small issue when rotating the screen with PlayEpub not in the foreground. Try these steps:
– start with PlayEpub in landscape
– switch to another app
– rotate to portrait
– rotate back to landscape
– switch back to PlayEpub
and the text all gets offset as shown:
http://www.majhost.com/gallery/ffaat/Stuff/img_00000003.jpg
It can be fixed by rotating back to portrait then back into landscape.
(I couldn’t get your upload to work hence the link)

If you feel ambitious, would it be possible to add a search feature? I suspect this might be a big deal effort but throw the idea out for your consideration.
Unrelated to the program, it would be helpful if you move the suggestions form to the top of the web page. Also, consider changing the order in which comments appear show the newest first.
Finally, congratulations on a highly polished program. You have done very good work.
Thank you.
@Rob,
I will study your suggestion.
Regarding your issues, let me check them.
@kevin,
Suggestion added to todo list. Thanks for your feedback.
@Arnold,
I’m not sure.
Please, send me one of your books to test.
@Roger,
It’s strange.
Please, send me one of your books to test.
5) one more recent issue – when downloading an epub from calibre some of them will sit at 0% with the spinner in the corner going for a long time. If I go back to the home menu, the file is there and loads fine.
Hi- Just playing with the latest trial and have a few comments/questions:
1) Is there anyway to rename libraries? I have calibre on two computers at home with different books and they both show up with the same title in the library browser…
2) It seems to only download epub files? I have pdf’s which the playbook can read and mobi’s which Book Reader can read – being able to at least download them through the same library interface would be handy.
3) Might be a bug – at random times the secondary menu (tap on the % bar) doesn’t work in landscape until I rotate the device to portrait then back.
4) I have had a couple of random crashes where the application closes completely. When restarting the entire library is gone, along with all bookmarks, notes, etc.
Obviously, #4 is the only showstopper here. Any suggestions?
almost perfect app the only improvement i could suggest would be either import all from directory or hold your place in the directory when you go back to add the next book.
