So how do I get my Kindle Books onto my playepub reader now? I did the cloud sync but no success! HELP! The only reason I got this damn thing is to read my Kindle books and I cannot get them from the could!
I keep the files physically on both devices as well as my BOX account so that feature wouldn’t be needed (Though if it was available I’d use it lol) Thanks for all the help in getting my problems fixed. Also, I used the information I found elsewhere on this site (it was crossed out but I was still able to read it) to fix the certificate error.
So, to recap, The app works great now, The devs are great as well! Cloud service is freakin’ awesome being able to sync my books between my Q10 and Playbook! Love it man, can’t wait to see what comes in the future!

I guess a recent server update might cause this… I would found it long ago otherwise…
It will be free until I can’t afford the server bandwith 😛
There are people asking to also sync physical files… It would be awesome but then it will have to be paid 🙂

I’ve tested on simulator and loads fine too.
It might take a little to load as it renders more pages than Z10 (because of screen size) but not too much. It takes 10sec. to load on my Z10, it should take no more than 30 or 40 on Q10.
Does it take more than that? If you left the device for 5 minutes, won’t it load neither?

I’ve reviewed your metadata and everything seems to be right.
Do your devices have the corret date/time set? This might be a reason for failling.
If nothing works, please, send me your book file by email and let me make some more tests.

Have you removed the book from library and opened it again?
It will also take a little to load, no more than 30 seconds.

on aug 14 (#22991), I uploaded a mobi file which never opens just has the spinning circle on my q10 and you said you would get back to me. I haven’t heard anything since. I have installed the latest update and it is still broken. Is there any new status? I have several thousand non-DRM protected files that I do not want to have to convert to epub. Also, is there a way to find out what version of Playepub is running, I couldn’t find an About screen.

Cloud services don’t work for me. It tells me there’s updated info but when I click to update nothing happens, the page just stays the same. I am using the exact same book file and email/pass for both my devices (PlayBook and Q10)
On my PlayBook it says “Certificate for server sync.playepub.com is invalid”
I have just downloaded playepub for burberry playbook and it won’t allow me in. I’ve transferred some books to books Ok, but done something wrong at set-up. how do I put this right? Help!!!!

I can’t see any file but I have some epub’s on “downloads”, “documents” or “books” folders. Why?
That’s usually a permission problem. On Playbook main menu, go to “Security”, “Applications”, and check permissions for PlayEpub.
I just downloaded the app to my BlackBerry Q10. I can’t find a way to sync the app with my kindle books. If this is not possible I request a refund for cost of app as it is useless to me.

How can I read my Kindle books?
As Amazon does not provide any system for third party apps to get access to the books, you have to first get your book files from your kindle account. Then, as most paid books are DRM-protected, you have to remove this protection. There are many sites explaining this process, you can start here:

Remember, you are not doing anything ilegal, you have already paid for your books and you only want to read them on your Blackberry device, your books are yours. This is not piracy.
Yes I am loading the same books (same exact file) and I’m using the same account as well it just always says “Cloud services unavailable”
I got it installed and updated (using the method you said) but my issue is that when switching devices my book doesn’t update. There is no error message given.

Are you using the same cloud account and the same files?
You have to use the same real files on both devices, with same name…
I purchased it because it said to purchase once for both devices (my q10 and playbook)but it’s asking me to pay again on my PlayBook and also can’t turn on cloud feature on my playbook. It seems to be working fine on my Q10

On you PB, be sure to be using the same BB id, then go to BB World, My World, and tap on refresh on installed and available apps. Is it displayed now under available?

Your book is drm protected, you have to remove protection first…
Men i purchased a license some time ago. I needed to restart mi plabook, and when i tried to reinstall your app the bbworld ask me to pay again.

Be sure to use the same Blackberry ID that you used when purchased and then, from BB World-> My World, refresh your installed and available apps. IT should be listed under available form installing without paying again.
I purchased the app last Wednesday. I saw an update yesterday. Tried to apply the update but failed. Uninstalled the app and tried reinstalling via AppWorld. Now it fails. Any help you can provide?

Are your ebooks DRM-protected? Try ePUBee or Epub DRM removal ro remove protection.

I like very much your app, and I have a suggestion.
I’d like it would offer more background options, like more textures for the confort of reading. The 2 sepia modes are not really confortable, I could suggest this one. If you could insert more textures it would be really great.

And more… orderying files alphabetically will mix even more your books because the numbers are at the end, not at the beggining.
Try putting the numbers ad the beggining and sort by name, not date.

Regarding closing other apps… How many opened books do you have? This usually happens when you have lots of them and Playepub tries to get the whole memory of the device, the operating system closes other apps to let this run properly.
I am running Playepub on PlayBook. I use the list view to view my titles. What my issue was is that I have long series’ of books, for example 1-40, in order, in list view, & when I fixed a misspelling, the book I fixed went to the top of the list. I was able to resolve the issue by putting a period at the end of other books titles until they were back in order.
Is there any way to make Playepub run more friendly with other apps? It doesn’t crash everything else, but it does crash my browsers when I try to simultaneously run them.

I keep my downloads in order, & I fixed a misspelling in one of the titles of my books inside of playepub & it took the title out of order & to the top of the list. I tried repeating the process to get everything back in order with no luck.
Also while I’m here, I notice that playepub crashes anything else simultaneously running, especially Origami.

How many books do you have opened? Is that Playbook or BB10?
Hello. Thank you for creating such a great program for the Playbook! I upgraded to version 1.9.9 from 1.9.8 (using Blackberry World) and PlayEpub Book Reader has stopped working. I never had any problems with previous upgrades. It comes up for a few seconds and just crashes. I am using the latest version of the Playbook OS

It seems something went wrong during the update process, perhaps Playepub was running when you updated.
I guess the best solution would be to remove the app and install it again.

Hi! I just purchased this for for my PlayBook and love it. I have the same BB ID (my email address above) on both my PlayBook and my new BB10 Z30 but when I go to BlackBerry World on my BB10 to install it (since you state I only need to buy it on one and use it on both) I can neither purchase it again nor install it. The purchase price shows up but when I click it the price I get “Confirm Purchase” in white and below it in red “Invalid Price (AW35005i)” with a close button at the bottom. How can I install it?

Green one shows a finished books (you have reached the last page).

I guess you have downloaded it from your device browser.
From Playepub, go to file explorer and navigate to downloads folder. Open your books there.
Short term and long term, hehe. Maybe I got a new Phone, OS and book reader between this time 😉
If i’m the only one who hate the swipe gesture, no problem. But i’m sure, many power users hate this function. In a real book u never jump chapters. U jump only to the place you was last.
Look. Every time, if i’m sleepy and the phone is tipping out of my hands, tatatataaa, the swipe gesture was released accidentally!
Z10, OS 10.2. Since the OS update, the app use in wide screen mode only half screen in high.
And i get a message concerning DRM opening epub files. Files that aren’t to open anymore.
And the slide gesture for chapter jumping is, months after my last request, still active without a option to deactivate. I accidental release this function almost all day.
I have deleted and reinstalled the app today, same issues.

I know about 10.2 issue, I’m working on it. It’s only happening when you rotate your device, if you start the app with device rotated it wors fine. I’ll try to fix it ASAP.
Regarding DRM, I have not notice that issue. Please, send me one of those files to test.
As I told you, sorry but there is not short term plan to change swipe gesture, might be in long term.

From file browser, just navigate through your storage. Is that your issue or is it another one?
Purchased the app, tried on my z10 but having some issues.
I cannot get the back button once I load a book. Need to close the app to get the back button.When I swipe down from top, all I get is the settings (font, brightness, etc tab). Can’t move thru pages and always loading. By the way, I’m running on 10.2. Thanks!

To show again back button and action bar, just tap on % bar at the botom or at book title on top, that will show the controls.

I am using a BB10 phone. I’ve had this problem with any document I’ve tried to open. Just deleted the “Instapaper” book and checked again with this page: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/exclusive-red-cross-launches-emergency-food-aid-plan-for-uks-hungry-8872496.html
First, the “Instapaper” book appears only after I quit and relaunched the app.
When I now try to open it I get this “0%” progress, and all I can do is quit the app.

When opening the ‘Instapaper’ book I get ‘Loading book, please wait’, the progress stuck at 0%, no improvement after a couple of minutes. I tried again with a different document, same effect. Is there any way I can debug to find out what causes the problem?
I would love to purchase the app. I can’t with Paypal, credit card……I get errors.
