Al cerrar y volver a abrir el programa, pone “cargando libro”, pero no se carga. Para que vuelva a funcionar tengo que reinstalar el programa. ¿Hay otra solución?
@Fernando,
Same thing, “Loading last book please wait 00%” loop forever. can’t load any books at all. Sure hope fixed soon, love this app for my books. Thanks
@Joseph,
If you reinstall, DO NOT close the app again from reading mode, always go to shelves before closing, this way you will avoid the issue.
It’s just a workaround until tomorrow 🙁
re: 1.8.9 loading bug / Editor, http://playepub.com/support/#comment-9538
Gracias Mr Iglesias. PlayEpub is my most used app, and I appreciate that I can see you care by the quick response and continual improvement.
Sorry again for the inconveniences.
I uploaded fix yesterday afternoon, hope it’s approved tomorrow morning.
I am having the same issue with version 1.8.9 not being able to load the ebook. I am only getting the “loading last book please wait 00%” message. Like Dominick, I also uninstalled and reintalled the application. Initially, after reinstall, it successfully opens up a book. However it fails to open the book after closing and relaunching the application.
Reaffirming reports of 1.8.9 “Please Wait Loading 00%” infinite loop.
On first upgrade, was able to open the program, book, and read as normal.
Problem arose after closing while still on the page of an ePub book, from 1.8.9
While the infinite loop prevents a book from opening or from viewing the library, it does not prevent access to any other function accessible from the top menu bar. Did try to download a book within PlayEpub from Gutenberg to trick it into successfully loading another book but the download stays at 0%.
Nice to see you guys are on top of the re-open issue. Just bought the app last night (just bought the playbook last night too). Looking forward to using it more once it’s fixed. First impressions were good.
@Timo,
I have seen it’s something related to that book design.
This is how it looks

And this is when changing to “default” style:

I’ll if I can force the styles that can be breaking the design.
Thanks for reporting!
Confirming the book load failure on start-up. The busy cursor just keeps spinning, but it never loads and never goes to the bookshelf.
Kelley
Just read editors comment. I’ll use an alternate book reader until your fix is published. Keep up the good work,the new collections function is sweet.
After latest update, the app hangs on loading latest book and never goes past that message. Love the app in general but until this is fixed it is useless to me. Last opened book was a drm-free epub.
@Timo,
Let me do some tests as images should be completely been resized.
@Carlos,
PDF zoom had to be deactivated in order to many other features to work.
I’m working on a real font increase instead of a zoom, but I don’t know if it will work.
Sorry man!
Sorry guys, last update caused app not to work when reopening to last book.
I have already upoloaded the fix, hope to be approved tomorrow morning.
Don’t touch anything as everything will work fine again with this update.
Sorry for the inconveniences.
Hi, very nice app, I use it daily. There is only one problem with the images in my epubs. They are stretched vertical and so not in the right ratio.
It is only cosmetic, but perhaps other are having the same problem. Example epub attached.
Thanks in advance and greetings from germany.

i update the Version 1.8.9 which i had to download the ebook again once i was done i exit the program. when i open up the program PlayEbub i i dont’t see my ebook plus it stating “loading last book please wait 00%”. i try unstall the app and reintall and i still have same problem before with loading last book. i would appreciate very much for your help and have it fix or money back which i few days ago i purchase the upgrade. Thank you
Stopped working on my playbook after upgrade
Just installed the new 1.8.9 update. I was not asked for payment.
The new Collections feature is GREAT!!! For people like me with large libraries, this feature was badly needed. It works intuitively and smoothly.
I also really like the new Search feature. It also works well, and should be very useful.
What happed to the “Go To” feature? I was kind of looking forward to that one.
Keep up the good work!
Kelley
Pinch to zoom no longer works with PDFs. It did work prior to the October 23 update! This was an important feature for PDFs with small print. Can this be restored / fixed?
Hi,
I’ve installed playepub on my playbbok and everything was running fine the first time. I was able to read the book, and playepub was doing everything it should.
However, when I try to launch playepub the second time, it gives me the message “Loading last book, Please wait” and get stuck at 0% forever. I still have acces to the icons at the top, but can’t do nothing else.
What can I do to unfreeze playepub ?
Thanks!
There is only one epub book on the playbook that I put there to try. I uploaded it to you. It’s not a DRM protected file.

Why is it that the latest upgrade requires me to login through app world and wants me to pay when I have already paid for the app and this is just an upgrade?
A bug report for the latest release. It tries to load the latest read book but it fails. Since that forbids me from returning to the home screen and open a book it has killed any use for the app as of now 🙁

@Chas Kirby,
Check first point on FAQ’s
http://playepub.com/faq/
and restart Playepub.
@Jeff,
This week there will be an update solved your issue!
@Isaac,
Check out first point on faq’s.
When installing PlayEpub on my Playbook the first time, I denied file permissions. I now get an error “PlayEpub can not read your shared files. You have probably denied File permissions when you installed PlayEpub. Please, check this” How can I correct this?
Thanks
Isaac
Wondering if any feedback on my epub issue from comment-9067
@Jeff,
Sorry man, I’m still looking at your issue. Let you know something ASAP.
@Jeff,
Just to let you know I’ve found the problem, chapter1 has a ‘ in the filename that prevents it from loading fine.
I’ll try to fix it ASAP
@Joseph,
You can manage bookmarks from inside each book.
Check out the help related to bookmarks and notes:
http://playepub.com/quick-help/bookmarks-and-notes/
In the main screen, I have all my books and I click on bookmark at the top and it takes me to all the bookmarks. How do I delete some of the bookmarks? Is there another place to delete them?
Thanks
Request: Could you make the title of the book and hour line at the top of the screen appear in bold, like the line and page % and number at the bottom, in order to facilitate reading? I’m particularly interested in making the clock more readable.
Problem: I assume that since the ability to read .mobi format is still in beta that you are working on it to make it more stable? The load time is very long and very often it will start that long ‘reload’ process everytime I switch between PB windows or that the PB goes momentarily into sleep mode. In some cases with a long book it wouldn’t load at all. I’ve turned to changing the format of my books from .mobi to .epub (using calibre) because this became too annoying (no problem with epub format).
Thanks and great book reader overall!
@Peter,
I’ll see what I can do with your first suggestion.
Regarding your problem, kindle support is not on beta anymore. Could you please send me your file to test?
when I go to attachments in my email. I click attachments, a bar comes up and it looks as if the book is downloading, but then “unable to open” comes up and unless I open and save the attachment, the book will not go to playepub. I gave security okay for playepub to download. I have been downloading and emailing books to my playbook for sometime, without difficulties, until I updated my playbook. Thank you for your help.
@Tracy,
That’s related to last update to “messages” app, the mail app, it has no relation with Playepub.
I recently updated my BlackBerry playbook. Now when I email a book to my playbook,it will not open and save. Is this a problem with PlayEpub?
@Tracy,
What do you mean with open and save? Where does this happen?
My epub will only go chapter to chapter and not by Page when I tap the screen is there a setting I need to know.
@Jim,
Please, send me a copy of your book and let me test.
@Heather,
Check out the right settings in this screenshot. It works fine for me.

I have tried the POP3 hos as pop.yahoo.co, yahoo, yahoo.com with the Port as 110 I am using my email address and password. I have tried every combination, currently get my mail on my playbook.
@Lisa,
Does this happen with any book? I usually do hundreds of this type of tests without any issue like yours.
@Heather,
Which are the complete settings you are trying with?
Thanks for looking into it.
In regards to the last issue, when I read a file, close it, go back to file browser to select another file to read, play epub will crash if I do this repeatedly in a short time period. I often read short stories that take about ten minutes to read and when I read a few one after another, epub will close completely and I have to re launch the app from the desktop.
Just testing to see if my previous comment was submitted.
Hi, I really love this app, thanks for a great product.
That said, I do have a few concerns. I would really like to see an icon in the downloads folder that indicates that the file has already been opened and is in the bookshelf. If someone has numerous files like myself, it’s hard to keep track and I keep opening downloads already in the bookshelf.
The same goes for the Google Reader feature. If there could be an icon indicating that items in the feed have been already read or accessed, that would be awesome.
Finally, I notice that the app crashes when I read one book after another in quick succession (like 3 short stories in 30 minutes). Any way you could look into that?
Again, wonderful app and I look forward to your response.
@Lisa,
I’ll take aloook into your suggestions.
Regarding last issue, could you please give me more details? I have not understood how to reproduce.
I’m trying to set up my yahoo email and I constantly get error connecting . I have yahoo, pop.yahoo.com, yahoo.com
do I use my entire email address with the @yahoo.com?
If you start out with a word selection, it is easy enough to move the arrows to extend the selection to a sentence or partial sentence, or whatever. I could live with that.
You could make it a config option – word or sentence selection.
Kelley
@Kelley,
I think it’s a good point!
I did it with “sentence” select cause I thought you will probably be always selecting full sentencies and not just words, but sentencies have this problem when they begin or finish outside current page. I’ve solved many possible situations, but I know it still has some bugs regarding this point. Selecting just a word would solve all of them at a time.
I’ll think about it 🙂
You know, much as I like PlayEpub, the text marking facility is a real pain. I often spend as much time trying to mark a text passage as I do actually reading.
A large part of this problem is the fact that the text marking sub-system does not recognize end-marks – paragraph, page, chapter – whatever.
The text marking facility would be VASTLY more useful if it did recognize end-marks, instead of just puctuation. It would also solve the problem that I previously reported, as well as the problem of run-away marks that go on for pages and pages, and cause PlayEpub to become unstable to the point that it has to be restarted (probably an overloaded pointer).
As a wish, it would be nice if you had the option of selecting only a single word, similar to Moon+.
I hope that you take this in the spirit that it is intended – I just want to see PlayEpub made better, since I use it for several hours every day.
Later. 😉
Kelley
@Brian Hackl,
I’m not sure I had understood your issue.
Could you please give me more info?
Can you open “opened” books from shelves?
@Jeff,
Let me do some tests.
I tell you something asap.
@Kelley,
I’ll take a look.
Thankyou man!
Found a genuine bug for you. When you mark a line of text at the bottom of a page, the lower arrow ends up in the bottom right corner of the screen, and cannot be moved.
Kelley
