i am on OS 2.0.1.358, and Playepub 1.7.60
And yes, the files are in the download folder, so that’s good. i guess there is a bug in the progress bar.
@Jim,
Which OS version do you have?
Altough % stays at “0”, does the book get downloaded after wait some time? I think the part is not working is the load progress. Could you please check your downloads folder?
Hi,
I am having a problem downloading content from the various sources that are embedded within playepub. When I select a book from, for example, gutenberg.org, it just gets hung with the green “working swirl” and I see the name of the file on the bottom, but it just stays at zero percent. i have checked my permissions and everything appears to be ok. And my wireless is working fine.
@Daniel Perez,
Please, let me do some tests. I’ll you something ASAP.
I’m sorry, i checked the other books and it was just that book so i deleted it and re loaded it and its fine, it wasn’t a problem with the app, but thank you for your time
The latest upgrade works fine, except now there is a delay in the sound of the pages turning and when it actually changes pages. Also, I don’t see the Page turn when this occurs.
@Julia,
Please, send me that file and let me make some tests.
I purchased the app a while ago and never had any problems with it, after the recent upgrade i now have some of the problems it said it would fix, like taking a long time to open the book, and if i close the book and re open it, i get skipped ahead in the book, if it doesn’t skip ahead in the book it’ll start up from a much earlier point in the book
Many thanks for quick response.
Issue solved.
Working well.
Again, thanks.
Ian
@Ian,
Have you scrolled up/down, left/right on your desktop?
The icon might be hidden, try to scroll to main desktop (the first on the left) and down. There might be more icons than you see.
Please, let me know if you find it.
I purchased product. “My World” inApp World” says it is installed but I cannot find it anywhere on Playbook.
Help please.
Ian
@Brian,
Don’t worry man, the important thing is that it works 🙂
Thanks.
Quick fix. I feel like an idiot after that.
@Brian,
If I understand correctly, you can’t navigate through files and folders on the integrated file explorer, can you?
Have you granted file permissions?
Don’t you have a popup alert reporting a permission issue?
Please, check first item on faqs:

Please, let me know if you can solve your issue.
I am having trouble adding files to playepub. I have added a bunch of epub files to my playbook in the books folder and when i go to find a book they are not there. The browse button does not let me view any folders. I am unsure as what to do now. I added one of the epub files just incase there is something wrong with the file.

@Deanne,
You need your account details.
Pop3 host is your server address. Check with your provider for the propper settings.
Hi I’m wondering how to add my email address so I can read a book a lady sent me? It asks for my pop3 host which I assume is just my email address? Then it says unable to connect
@Michael Grant,
Please, do the same, take a look at permissions on fkrst point of faqs.

Let me know the results.
@Bettt,
Please, take a look at first point on faqs and see if it applies.

I have a problem with actually deleting the .epub file. I cannot delete the file using the browser since the delete button does not work. I can delete the book from the bookshelf but when I delete the .epub file using a file browser I get the error about “cannot read shared files” and the browser is blank when i start playepub. rebooting does not help but reinstalling playepub does.
Since I upgraded epub I can no longer use it…it tells me that I have not allowed access, but I have! I was hoping today’s update would fix the problem but sadly it did not. Help please. The new features look good and I would like to try them.
@Bruce Parker,
Cool! Enjoy your reading!!!
@Michael,
I’ll look at it.
Thanks for your feedback.
#6181 is a false alarm… I hate being a newbie… 🙁
I figured out the problem and App World let me re-download without re-paying.
Thank you for a great program!!!
Installed Playepub last night on new Playbook after OS2 upgrade. Transferred books from computer to read. Checked that it worked. Went to bed. Woke up this morning and the icon is gone. Tried the FAQ fix and it didn’t work. No other ides from other forums worked. Did a security wipe to start over. I no longer have the option to “reinstall” Playepub. How do I reinstall without buying it again?
Just upgraded PlayEpub and I have found that it still selects many pages when selecting text on one Page.
Also some of the colors don’t show when highlighting text, if you highlight the same text you tried to highlight with a colour you see a red X showing that you can remove the highlight even though you can see any colour, mostly happens with the bright green left of center on the colour palette.
I still think there are to many colors and the tiles are to small to be able to select the exact one you want.
@treva,
Public library books are usually protected. That means they have something like mechanisms to keep digital rights. See it as an anticopy system.
Playepub does not support drm, there is no book reader with drm support for Playbook.
Have you tried removing drm?
http://www.ebook-converter.com/epub-drm-removal.htm
I downloaded books from my local library but I can’t open them. Any ideas? I keep getting a message saying the file may be drm protected. What does that mean and how do I correct it?
@Jerry Johnson,
I’m not sure. Can’t you copy then from Kindle through usb?
@Olga,
I’m not sure I have understood your issue.
Just go to app world and click on buy. That’s all!
Hi, after trial I,do like to buy your reader. How I do it?
Just downloaded Playepub and trying to download free Kindle book as test. How do I get from Kindle to PlayBook?
Thanks
@Tom Daniels,
Hi dude!
There might be a solution.
Look at this screenshot (sorry, it’s in spanish, hope it’s the same in english version):
http://playepub.com/files/2012/06/book.png
Two steps on Google Play.
1)Go to “How to read”
2)At the bottom, “Download Epub”.
I don’t know if all the files can be downloaded.
Books might have DRM. If this is the case, you can try to remove it before. Try this:
http://www.ebook-converter.com/epub-drm-removal.htm
Please, let me know if you could finally import it 🙂

@Tom Daniels,
As far as I know Google Reader is a rss reader, that’s what you can do with Playepub, download your articles and read them like a book.
I can’t see how you can have a book there.
Could you please give me an example of how you do that? Maybe an screenshot?
Well, i have a book on google reader(mistake earlier not google play). While u were working on playepub, to read the book, I had to use the internet. If there was a way to read it on playepub or from playepub, I would like to do that. I see a link to google reader on playepub, but haven’t figured out how to use it.
By the way good job on the update.
@Michael Grant,
I’ll check it out.
@Tom Daniels,
I’m not sure what you mean with “move from google play”.
Could you please explain it with more detail?
Is possible to move a book from google play to playepub? If so, how? If not, then how can i read the book from playepub?
Thanks. Is possible to move a book from google play to playepub? If so, how? If not, then how can i read the book from playepub?
I tried several books that I already have read and get the same problem. Not a showstopper problem but still it would be nice to have smooth transitions.
Did I mention that Play ePub kicks the crap out of the other readers. The sepia/parchment background is genius.
Michael Grant
@Michael Grant,
Thanks for your feedback.
I’ll do some tests tonight when at home. I think everything was working fine, but let me see.
Does this behaviour happen with any book?
Latest update is great. The best ebook reader is better but the Page transitions either animated or instant have gotten sluggish. Now that you can turn off the (annoying) sound I would like to use the animated transition but the page begins to slide and then just jumps to the next page. The instant page transition also hesitates before changing pages.
Play ePub is by far my most used app, and it just keeps getting better. Thanks for your work.
