FAQ
I can’t see any file but I have some epub’s on “downloads”, “documents” or “books” folders. Why?
That’s usually a permission problem. On Playbook main menu, go to “Security”, “Applications”, and check permissions for PlayEpub.
When I start PlayEpub nothing happens, I can only see a white screen without the folder buttons.
You have probably denied “File Access” permission when you installed PlayEpub. See first issue.
After purchasing PlayEpub I can’t see the icon on my desktop and it does not appear as a purchased app in App World
You have to clear App World cache.
For the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet, follow these steps:
- Launch the BlackBerry AppWorld application
- Swipe in from the bottom-left corner of the frame to bring up the keyboard.
- Type rst
Note: BlackBerry App World will not provide any notification that the reset has been performed.
Can I unninstall PlayEpub and install it again without having to pay twice?
Yes, you can. You are only charged the first time.
I have many books in other formats. Can I convert them to epub?
Yes, you can. Try Calibre to convert them to epub. You can also try some online converters: 2epub.com, convertfiles.com.
When I open my book I can only see characters without any sense, I can open the book and change pages but text is malformed.
That’s because your book is DRM-protected. Try Epub DRM removal to remove protection.
Will PlayEpub support DRM-protected books?
I wish, but it probably never will. It’s not a develoment issue, it’s a licensing problem, Adobe will not allow me. I’ve ask for a license but they have not answered.
What’s the difference between bookmarks and notes?
Bookmarks are just links to pages on book, click “Add bookmark” and that’s all. Notes are a more elaborated type of bookmark where you can add some relevant text. You can add as many notes as you want to a page but one page can only have one bookmark.
